Lost Dog Street Band has announced their upcoming Survived Album Release Tour, with dates spanning from April to May of 2024. This is exciting news for fans considering Benjamin Tod’s decision to retire the project after their 2022 album, Glory.
Just a month after recording his solo album in January 2023, Tod felt an urge to revisit the band once more. The entire album was finished in five days, and it has an infectious energy throughout the album, beginning with the opener Brighter Shade. The title track, Survived, closes the album with mournful fiddle and strummed mandolin chords providing an idyllic backdrop for Tod, who sings with unbridled passion.
The band will be kicking off the tour in Detroit, Michigan at Saint Andrew’s Hall on April 18, 2024, and will continue on to perform in various cities throughout the Midwest and East Coast. West Coast dates have yet to be announced, but Tod confirmed that they are in the works in a recent IG comment.
Fans of Lost Dog Street Band can expect to hear new material from their upcoming album, which is set to release in the spring of 2024, as well as some of their classic hits. The band is known for their unique blend of country, folk, and bluegrass, with their music often telling stories of heartbreak, loss, and redemption.
Those who are interested in attending the Survived Album Release Tour can sign up for the presale code on the band’s website, with presale tickets going live on Monday, November 13th, 2023 at 10 am. Tickets will officially go on sale to the public on Friday, November 17th, 2023 at 10 am. Expanded Band Lineup
Lost Dog Street Band has always been known for their stripped-down, raw sound. However, for their Survived Album Release Tour, they have expanded their band lineup to include several new members.
Benjamin Tod’s wife, Ashley Mae, who has been an integral part of the band since 2011, will be joining as a permanent member on guitar and fiddle. Her haunting melodies and intricate guitar work will add a new dimension to the band’s sound.
In addition, Ben Duvall will be joining on drums. Duvall is a seasoned musician who has played with a variety of bands in the past, and his steady rhythm will provide a strong backbone for the band’s live shows.
Jeff Loops will be joining on bass, bringing his years of experience as a session musician to the table. His precise playing and attention to detail will keep the band locked in and on point.
Finally, Tebbs Karney will be joining on pedal steel guitar. Karney is a master of the instrument and has played with a variety of bands in the past. His ethereal, otherworldly sound will add a new layer of depth to the band’s live performances.
With this expanded band lineup, Lost Dog Street Band is poised to deliver some of their most powerful and dynamic performances yet.
Lost Dog Street Band: A Brief Introduction
Lost Dog Street Band is a dark country trio led by Benjamin Tod and his wife, fiddler Ashley Mae. The band began their journey on the sidewalks of Nashville almost a decade ago, and now they have a significant national audience drawn to their authentic songwriting, old-time instrumentation, and hard-won independence.
The band’s music is a blend of traditional Appalachian folk, country, and bluegrass, with a touch of punk rock energy. Their lyrics often deal with themes of addiction, poverty, and the struggles of everyday life.
Lost Dog Street Band has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Weight of a Trigger and Rage and Tragedy. The band’s music has been praised for its raw emotion, haunting melodies, and honest storytelling.
After a successful run with the release of his 2022 solo album, Songs I Swore I’d Never Sing, Benjamin Tod considered retiring the long-running trio and focusing his efforts elsewhere. However, he realized he’d been subconsciously writing new music for Lost Dog Street Band, which fans have loved for over a decade.
